Jammu, Jun 17: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sunil Sharma on Tuesday reiterated the Modi government’s firm commitment to safeguarding the lives and interests of Indian citizens living abroad.
Sharma said the Ministry of External Affairs, under the current administration, is strong and responsive. ” Our Ministry of External Affairs is strong and decisive. The Modi government has proven time and again that it stands by every Indian, no matter where they are in the world,” he said.
Sharma was responding to a question about students from Jammu and Kashmir reportedly stranded in war-torn Iran.
He said the government has consistently acted to ensure that any Indian citizen in distress is brought home safely, including to Jammu and Kashmir or any part of the country.
“We want to assure the people that the Indian government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, takes swift action through our foreign ministry to prevent any harm to Indian nationals abroad,” he added.
Calling for calm and cooperation, the BJP leader urged the public and media to trust the efforts of the government and the Ministry of External Affairs. “There is full hope and faith in the system. Our foreign policy is driven by national interest and the safety of every Indian,” he concluded.
