Srinagar, Aug 11: The College of Temperate Sericulture, SKUAST-K, organised an impactful Awareness Programme on Mental Health and Substance Abuse under the joint banner of the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat Abhiyan and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, in collaboration with KASHMER and Help Poor Voluntary Trust.According to a statement issued here, the event began with a welcome address by Dr. Aabid Khaliq Tantray, Assistant Professor and Student Welfare Officer, who stressed the importance of empowering youth through awareness and mental well-being. Prof. K.A. Sahaf, Associate Dean, delivered the inaugural address highlighting the psychological challenges faced by students and the role of institutions in addressing them. Prof. I.L. Khan also spoke on the significance of mental health and urged students to stay away from the menace of substance abuse.
