Anantnag, Jan 11: Former J&K Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President, Mehbooba Mufti, escaped unhurt in a road accident in Sangam, Anantnag on Thursday afternoon, while her driver and PSO suffered injuries.
Mufti was on her visit to Boat Colony Khanabal to meet the fire victims when her car, in which she was travelling, met with an accident.
She, straightway after the accident, visited the fire victims and later, a team of doctors conducted a medical check-up on her in Anantnag.
Mehbooba thanked everyone after the accident for the outpouring of concern about her well-being. The PDP chief said she was fine, while her driver and Personal Security Officer (PSO) suffered injuries in the accident.
“Thankful to everyone for their prayers & the outpouring of concern about my well being. I am fine alhamdullilah. My driver & PSO have suffered injuries & I hope they recover soon,” she wrote on X.
Iltija Mufti, Media Advisor to Mehbooba took to X to inform about the accident: “Ms Mufti’s car met with a terrible accident enroute Anantnag today. Thanks to the grace of god she & her security officers escaped unhurt without any serious injuries.”
Former J&K CM and NC vice president Omar Abdullah wrote, “Glad to hear that Mehbooba Mufti Sahiba escaped injury in what could have been a very serious incident. “I expect the government to enquire in to the circumstances of the accident. Any gaps in her security that contributed to this accident must be addressed immediately.”
