Jammu, Mar 13: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu and former minister S Manjit Singh on Wednesday sought developmental overhaul in Samba district.
As per a press release, Singh chaired a meeting at Vijaypur in which party leaders and prominent people participated. During the meeting, the party leaders held a threadbare discussion regarding the “unpopular” government in Jammu and Kashmir being run by the bureaucracy.
“The public issues have largely remained unresolved that need urgent attention of the authorities regarding the growing concerns of underdevelopment, unemployment, and impartial distribution of funds in various areas that have discriminated against the people of different regions,” he said while expressing the party’s commitment to ensure equitable development and unity.
Singh said authorities have failed to do justice to the people and the grievances of the masses have remained unresolved giving rise to the feeling of alienation without an elected government
To address the growing complexity of issues, he said the Election Commission of India should hold the legislative assembly as well as Parliamentary elections together in J&K. He said the elected government is responsible to the people while the bureaucracy has no accountability towards the people.
