Samba, Feb 09: The Congress Party’s presence is growing in district Samba, under the guidance of Jammu and Kashmir Congress Party UT Vice President and former minister Yashpal Kundal, the party said on Friday.
“Every day, leaders, workers, and officials from various parties are choosing to align themselves with the Congress Party,” the party said in a statement issued here.
The statement added, “During his visit to several villages in the Rajpura block of Samba district, Kundal engaged with the local community to understand their concerns. Residents voiced grievances over escalating electricity bills and skyrocketing inflation, making household expenses increasingly burdensome. They expressed frustration with the lack of responsiveness from the administration when addressing these issues.”
Addressing the gathering, Yashpal expressed confidence in the growing support for the Congress Party in Jammu and Kashmir, saying there is a potential shift in public sentiment towards electing a corruption-free government. He said the absence of an elected government is depriving people of their rights.
Hundreds of individuals, resonating with the ideology of the Congress Party, enthusiastically participated in the event and formally joined the party, the party said. The former minister and other party members warmly welcomed them by garlanding them with flowers.
“The joining of prominent leaders is a clear indication of the people’s desire for the Congress Party to lead in addressing their concerns and fostering peace and progress in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
