Kulgam, Feb 17: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dr Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat on Friday visited Vessu Migrant colony to review the arrangements being made for the upcoming festival of Maha Shivratri.
During the visit, the DC inspected sale counters established in the colony by Fisheries, Agriculture, Horticulture and other departments where Trout fish, dry fruits and fresh vegetables were made available for the inhabitants.
Later, the DC also took stock of the pace and progress made on construction of transit accommodation at the colony which is under the execution of JKPCC.
On the occasion, it was revealed that out of 13 blocks consisting of 208 2BHK flats, 6 blocks consisting of 96 Flats have been completed. The ambitious project has a total project cost of 64.62 crore.
The DC instructed the concerned to mobilize men and machinery to complete other blocks at an earliest.
Accompanying the DC were SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal, ACR, ACP, Tehsildar, Executive Engineers from PDD and PHE, CAO, CHO, EO and other officers.
