Srinagar, Jul 24: Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Sunil Sharma, met with Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr Jitendra Singh, in New Delhi. The discussions centred on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the progress of key developmental projects.During the meeting, Sharma, according to a statement issued here, expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the Amarnath Yatra. He and Dr Singh reviewed the ongoing implementation of central schemes, including the Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP), Jal Jeevan Mission, and the expansion of road and rail networks.Dr Singh assured full central support to accelerate project timelines and eliminate administrative hurdles, the statement said. The dialogue also emphasised youth engagement and employment generation, with Sharma advocating for increased central investment in skill development and startup programs for local talent.The Union Minister highlighted initiatives under Digital India and Skill India aimed at empowering the youth of J&K through training and entrepreneurial opportunities.Terming the meeting productive, Sharma said, “Today’s interaction was constructive and focused on both security concerns and long-term development goals for Jammu and Kashmir.
