“LG’s Mulaqaat” LG stresses responsiveness for enhanced public services

Srinagar, July 31:
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held an interactive session, “LG’s Mulaqaat,” at the Civil Secretariat, engaging with citizens who had registered their grievances on JKIGRAMS.
During the session, the Lt Governor reviewed the actions taken by Deputy Commissioners and concerned officials on past citizen grievances, highlighting the growing trust in the grievance redressal mechanism as a positive indicator of an effective and efficient system, improved public services, and enhanced responsiveness and reliability.
“The citizens’ trust in the grievance redressal mechanism reflects our commitment to ensuring a better quality of life and socio-economic growth. Transparent and honest implementation of welfare schemes fosters inclusive development,” said the Lt Governor.
Addressing specific complaints, the Lt Governor directed concerned Deputy Commissioners to personally visit and report on the issues raised by Manmeet Singh from village Dhangri, Rajouri, and Haji Amir Ud Din from Ashtangoo, Bandipora, related to the Revenue department and water supply scheme implementation.
AnayatParvez from LohaiMalhar, Kathua, brought attention to the construction of a bridge over Bheni River, with the Principal Secretary Public Works (R&B) assuring that the construction would commence in the coming months.
In response to grievances related to land compensation from Jahangir Hassan Sheikh from Baramulla and AmanHussain from Ramban, the Lt Governor directed Divisional Commissioners and concerned departments to appraise similar matters and address the issues on merit.
The Lt Governor emphasized the importance of resolving unresolved complaints and instructed Deputy Commissioners to submit action taken reports to the Lt Governor’s secretariat. Additionally, he urged officials to monitor the KissanSamparkAbhiyan and prioritize the SwachhtaAbhiyan in their districts.
Ensuring operationalization of District-wise help desks for industrial investment proposals was stressed, and the Lt Governor reviewed the power scenario, efforts to eliminate beggary, and the progress in granting old age pension. He also urged authorities to address road accidents caused by old and dilapidated vehicles.
The Lt Governor applauded the efforts of officials and stakeholders for successfully conducting Muharram and the ongoingShriAmarnathJiYatra. He also reviewed the preparations for Independence Day celebrations across the districts.
Conducting the proceedings of “LG’s Mulaqaat,”.RehanaBatul, Commissioner/Secretary, Public Grievances, played a pivotal role in facilitating the interactive session.
Prominent dignitaries present during the interaction, both in person and through virtual mode, included Dr.Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary; R K Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department; Dr.Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to Lt Governor; Administrative Secretaries; Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, SSPs, HoDs, and other senior officers.
