According to an order, a high-level committee will be headed by Additional Chief Secretary, Jal Shakti Department, with Divisional Commissioner Jammu and IGP Jammu as its members.
The committee has been tasked to examine in detail the causes and circumstances leading to the incident that occurred near Adhkwari on August 26.
It will also assess the rescue and relief measures undertaken and suggest standard operating procedures (SOPs) and preventive measures to avoid recurrence of such incidents in future.
The panel has been directed to submit its report within two weeks to the Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, the order added.
