Jammu, June 22: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a significant high-level meeting in Jammu focused on security and district development. The meeting, attended by Deputy Commissioners (DCs), Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), and top officials from Civil and Police Administration across 10 districts, addressed critical issues impacting the region.
Key officials present included Chief Secretary AtalDulloo, DGP RR Swain, Principal Secretary Home Department ChandrakerBharti, ADGP Law & Order Vijay Kumar, ADGP CID Nitish Kumar, ADGP Jammu ShAnand Jain, Principal Secretary to Lt Governor Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sh Ramesh Kumar, DIGs, and other senior officials.
Lt Governor Sinha reviewed the overall security situation during the meeting, emphasizing seamless coordination among security forces, civil administration, and police. He stressed the urgency of dismantling the terror ecosystem and prioritizing the neutralization of terrorists and their supporters.
The gathering also evaluated the progress of various development projects and the effective implementation of social welfare schemes across the districts. Special attention was given to preparations for the upcoming ShriAmarnathJiYatra, with discussions focusing on ensuring yatra security, efficient traffic management, provision of essential facilities along the yatra route, road infrastructure improvements, and the distribution of RFID Cards.
Addressing rising concerns over road safety, including accidents, illegal mining, and drug trafficking in hilly districts of Jammu division, Lt Governor Sinha directed DCs and SSPs to implement stringent measures against traffic violations. He emphasized the immediate identification and seizure of unfit vehicles.
