Srinagar, June 20: To mark a major milestone in campus placements at the University of Kashmir (KU), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has provisionally selected three final-year Electronics and Communication Engineering students from the varsity’s Institute of Technology (IOT), Zakura Campus.

The selected students- Amaan Abbas, Taaha Manzoor Shah and Bhat Mufasir Nazir—will be joining BEL as Fixed Term Engineers (E-II Grade) at an impressive annual package of Rs 12 lakh.

The on-campus recruitment drive, held recently for Electronics and Communication Engineering students, included a company presentation, a written test, and in-depth panel interviews conducted by a senior team from BEL’s Bangalore unit. Out of 21 participants, 16 were shortlisted and 3 secured final selection. The students are to be posted across BEL units in Srinagar, Leh, Awantipora, and Pathankot. Vice-Chancellor KU, Prof. Nilofer Khan, congratulated the selected students on their exceptional achievement.

“This success reflects the growing national-level recognition of the talent nurtured at our University. We are committed to further strengthening industry-academia partnerships that open up new opportunities for our youth,” she said.

Director IOT Zakura Campus KU, Prof. Mohammad Tariq Banday, praised the students’ dedication and said that the success highlights the growing trust of premier PSUs in the academic quality and professional readiness of students from the varsity.

Coordinator, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, IoT Zakura Campus KU, Er. Rouf ul Alam, described the selection as a landmark achievement for the department. He credited the result to the collaborative effort of faculty and the placement team of IOT, Zakura

The BEL delegation for the recruitment included high-ranking officers such as Srinivas (Retd. Cmde), General Manager (A&A), Sharanappa Ranjeri, Sr. DGM (MS), Anjaneyulu M, DGM (MS/Testing), Shreya H Kujur, Manager (HR) and Jaikumar K.M, Assistant Manager (HR). Earlier, this month, Ahsan Imtiyaz, a final-year Mechanical Engineering student from IoT Zakura, was also selected by BEL with the same CTC, reinforcing KU’s growing profile in national PSU placements. This latest achievement has been widely appreciated as a motivating benchmark for aspiring engineers across the region
