Jammu, Aug 15: Cabinet Minister Satish Sharma on Friday conducted a comprehensive visit to Jammu to assess the ongoing relief and medical response to the recent Kishtwar cloudburst tragedy.First, he visited the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu to check on the health status of the victims injured in the incident. Accompanied by GMC Jammu Principal Dr Ashutosh Gupta, HoD Orthopaedics Dr Sanjeev Gupta, Medical Superintendent Dr Varinder Trisal, and senior officials, Sharma interacted with injured patients and their attendants. He expressed solidarity, wished them a speedy recovery, and directed the hospital authorities to ensure the provision of the best possible medical care, round-the-clock attention, and timely interventions.Sharma, who is the Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, said the UT administration is committed to extending all necessary support to those affected by the disaster and appreciated the efforts of the doctors, paramedics, and staff for their dedicated emergency response.He also visited the residences of several victims of the Kishtwar cloudburst in Jammu to offer condolences. He interacted with the bereaved families, conveyed deep sympathy for the loss of their loved ones, and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls. Sharma assured the families that the government stands with them during this difficult time and pledged that all necessary relief and rehabilitation measures would be provided without delay.The minister said the tragic incident has deeply affected the entire Jammu and Kashmir region and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the affected families through comprehensive assistance. Sharma attended the last rites of the victims held at different locations within Jammu district, demonstrating his solidarity and support for the grieving families.
