Kishtwar, Oct 17: Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav on Monday chaired a meeting of line departments and representatives of civil Society to finalise arrangements for Deepawali Festival.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Shafqat Hussain Butt; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Varunjeet Singh Charak; Assistant Commissioner Development, Atul Dutt Sharma; Tehsildar Headquarter, Chander Shekhar Sharma; Tehsildar, Pramood Kumar; AO, DC office Imran Ahmed Kichloo; ALC, Amit Kumar; Chief Medical Officer, Dr Chander Prakash; EO MC, Tariq Balwan, besides other concerned attended the meeting.
At the outset, the representative of Sanatan Dharm Sabha highlighted the requirements to ensure effective arrangements for the celebration of the holy Festival.
The DC assured them that all the issues will be addressed through timely intervention of concerned departments.
Meanwhile, the arrangements for security, maintenance of law and order, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, Medicare, checking of rates and quality of eatables, besides deployment of fire tenders were discussed and finalized in the meeting.
The DC directed for constituting a Joint team of FCS & CA, Legal Metrology and Food Safety Departments to intensify market inspection to keep a check on overpricing, profiteering, black-marketing besides ensuring the quality of sweets, Milk and milk-based products and other eatables.
It was also decided in the meeting that the health department will keep available an Ambulance at District Hospital for meeting any emergency.
Besides, the Fire and Emergency services department was directed to requisition an adequate number of fire tenders besides keeping the fire tenders on alert round the clock at designated places including Sub-Divisional headquarters.
The meeting also decided to ensure the installation of fire crackers stalls at Chowgan Ground Kishtwar with due adherence to the guidelines and SOPs issued for the safety measures.
The Police department was asked to put in place foolproof security measures in the public and religious places during the Festival.
The ADC was asked to establish a Control Room besides circulate the list of Do’s and Don’ts for Deepawali festival and involve PRIs for awareness of safety measures among the masses.
The SDMs were directed to hold preparedness meetings at their respective headquarters to ensure the arrangements are made well in time for smooth conduct of holy festival.
