New Delhi, Nov 24: Ministry of Parliamentary & Minority Affairs, under the leadership of Kiren Rijiju, convened a high-level conference at Vigyan Bhawan to evaluate preparations for Haj 2025.
The meeting aimed to address challenges faced by pilgrims during Haj 2024 and implement targeted solutions for a smoother experience in the upcoming pilgrimage season.
Mohd Ali Majaz, Chairperson of the Haj Committee of Ladakh, emphasized the critical issues encountered by Ladakhi pilgrims, shedding light on inadequate accommodation, subpar arrangements in Mina and Muzdalifah, and persistent technical glitches in the Haj Suvidha App. These challenges, he noted, caused significant inconvenience to pilgrims from the region.
Majaz proposed a set of targeted improvements, including exclusive buildings for Ladakhi pilgrims, enhanced transportation facilities, and increased support from Khadim-ul-Hujjaj and State Haj Inspectors.
In response, the Ministry announced a series of measures to address these concerns and elevate the Haj experience in 2025 Procurement of modern buildings equipped with elevators in Aziziya and other areas close to the Haram. Deployment of advanced buses for intercity and Mashaer region travel. Establishment of a robust medical support system for pilgrims. Improvement in the Khadim-ul-Hujjaj ratio from 1:200 to 1:150 to ensure personalized assistance.
Rijiju reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to resolving past shortcomings and enhancing the overall pilgrimage experience for all participants, with a special focus on meeting the unique needs of Ladakhi pilgrims.
“The Ministry is dedicated to ensuring an inclusive and comfortable Haj experience for every pilgrim. These new measures will address critical gaps and set a higher standard for future pilgrimages,” Rijiju stated.
