Killing of youth in Jammu: Police suspend two personnel, inquiry ordered

Jammu, Jul 25: Following the killing of a youth in the Phallain Mandal area of Jammu on Thursday, two police personnel have been suspended. They will remain posted in the District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu and will deposit their uniform articles in the DPL store.The suspended officials are from the District Special Branch of the police.A special investigation team (SIT), headed by a DySP-ranked officer, has been constituted to probe the allegations raised by the family members of the deceased youth, SHO Satwari, Jaipal Singh said.He said the two suspended officials – Baljinder Singh and Pawan Singh – will remain posted in DPL Jammu and will deposit their uniform articles in the DPL store.The SHO said the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) headquarters in Jammu will conduct a departmental inquiry into the matter.“The investigation is underway to establish the facts surrounding the incident,” he said.
