Jammu, Jan 27: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha graced the ‘Akhil Bhartiya’ Kavi Sammelan held at Abhinav Theatre in Jammu today. The event, organized by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages, brought together renowned poets from Jammu and Kashmir as well as various states and Union Territories across the country to commemorate the 75th Republic Day.
During the occasion, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha extended a warm welcome to the esteemed poets, acknowledging their significant role in shaping new ideas and perspectives. He emphasized that poets, thinkers, and writers are not just creators of art but also mystics who inspire young minds with dreams, visions, and determination. The Lt Governor highlighted the rich tradition of Kavi Sammelans in India, underscoring their immense contribution to national integration.
Lt Governor Sinha also announced that the first-ever Dogri Kavi Sammelan would be organized in Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days as part of the Republic Day celebrations. He expressed that such events not only unite literary talents but also celebrate the linguistic and cultural heritage of the region.
The Kavi Sammelan featured the participation of distinguished poets such as Upendra Pandey, Dinesh Raghuvanshi, Akhilesh Mishra, Sudeep Bhola, Dr. Vishnu Saxena, Rajesh Aggarwal, Dr. Shailendra Madhur, Ajay Atpattu, Kalpana Shukla, Dr. Satish Vimal, Prof. Raj Kumar, Prof. Nirmal Vinod, and others. Their rhythmic poetry recitations captivated the audience.
The event was attended by Suresh Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary of the Culture Department; Anand Jain, ADGP Jammu; Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; Bharat Singh Manhas, Secretary JKAACL; along with renowned artists and a large gathering of people, particularly youth.
