Srinagar, June 29: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today addressed senior wing cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) at the Special National Integration Camp held at the JAKLI Regimental Centre, Rangreth.
In his address, the Lt Governor praised the NCC Directorate, Jammu Kashmir, and Ladakh for providing young cadets with opportunities to forge lifelong friendships and understand the rich cultural heritage that unites India despite its diverse languages and traditions. He highlighted the camp’s role in promoting the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ and bringing together cadets from 17 directorates across the country to foster common values of patriotism, integrity, and selfless service.
“The activities at the camp truly symbolize the spirit of unity in diversity, instilling values of discipline, integrity, and camaraderie in the cadets,” he said.
The Lt Governor lauded the significant role of the National Cadet Corps in promoting fundamental values and propagating principles of human dignity and equality, transcending the boundaries of race, religion, and gender. “These core values bind us to a shared vision for a brighter future,” he added.
He noted the NCC’s unwavering commitment, efficiency, and dedication to serving society in line with its motto, “Unity and Discipline,” and its immense contribution to nation-building. He emphasized that the Special National Integration Camp would enable NCC cadets to appreciate and share the common aspirations of the youth of Kashmir Valley and the rest of the country.
Addressing the cadets, the Lt Governor reiterated the UT Administration’s commitment to empowering the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. He called upon the youth to join the NCC in large numbers and serve society and the nation selflessly.
The NCC Directorate of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh is establishing three new NCC units and has already set up state-of-the-art training academies in Nagrota and Leh. It has also started programs to connect the youth with innovation and start-ups.
As part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ program, over 250 cadets from 17 directorates across the country participated in the camp organized by the NCC Directorate, Jammu Kashmir, and Ladakh. The cadets showcased India’s rich and diverse cultures through their performances.
Major General RK Sachdeva, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh; Brigadier Deepak Sajjanhar, Group Commander NCC Group Srinagar; and other senior officers were also present.
