JKSTIC hosts awareness programme on Drug Abuse and Drug Addiction

Jammu, Oct 16: J&K Science, Technology and Innovation Council, Department of Science Technology, Udhampur organized Mega event including Symposium and Poster making competition here on Wednesday at GHSS Chiryai.
Shruti Khanna District Coordinator, Department of Science and Technology organized the event.
The Awareness Programme on drug abuse and drug addiction was inaugurated by the school Principal Shama Devi, while Renu Kotwal Sr. Lecturer Physics Boys GHSS Udhampur Dr. Sashim Sansar Medical Officer Tikri were the guests of honour at the event.
Cluster of Government and private institutions of Chiryai area participated in the poster making and symposium on the subject. The objective of organizing this event was to make aware and save the youth from drug abuse and drug addiction. The welcome address was presented by Lovely Gupta Sr. Lecturer Physics.
The Guest Lecture was delivered by Dr. Sashim Sansar Medical Officer Tikri. The event concluded with the distribution of trophies, cash reward and certificates to the best performing students, in both the events.
Students Rajeema Begum GHS Samole won first prize for symposium, while second prize was bagged by Pooja Devi GHSS Chiryai, Third Prize was secured by Rohit Singh GHS Samole while Anil Kumar GHS Samole, Shivani HSS Chiryai Manav Salaria Rubia Akhter GHSS Chiryai were awarded consolation Prize. In the 2nd event of poster marking competition students Kritika Jaral GHSS Chiryai, Arushi Verma GHSS Kotli Jijan Suhasini Singh and Safa Akhter GHSS Chiryai were awarded 1st, 2nd, 3rd consolation prizes.
The event was concluded with the presentation of Vote of Thanks to senior citizens Judges Medical Officer Tikri and Department JKSTIC.
