As of March 05, over 84 lakh Ayushman Bharat–PradhanMantri Jan ArogyaYojana (AB-PMJAY) cards have been generated in Jammu and Kashmir. The rollout of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission in July 2022 introduced ABHA health cards in Jammu and Kashmir. With QR code-based registration, patients can easily share their profile details, leading to a steady increase in token generation. The initiative, implemented in phases across medical colleges, district hospitals, and CHCs, has significantly improved service delivery.
Expansion of MBBS, PG, and DNB Seats: Catalyzing Medical Education
Post-2019, there has been a remarkable expansion in medical education opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir. The doubling of MBBS seats, along with a surge in PG and DNB seats, reflects the authorities’ commitment to advancing medical education and research.
