Jammu, July 28: A condolence meeting was organized by Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu to pay tributes to Bharat Singh Manhas JKAS, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages who expired on 20th July, 2024 after a sustained illness. The meeting was presided over by Pt. Kewal K Sharma, President, JKCCA.
The JKCCA members and advisors who attended the meeting included Radhey Shyam, Bimal Magotra, Joginder Pal, Ashok Mehra, Jang S. Verman, Deepak Kumar, Vinay Bhardwaj, Jaswant Singh, D P Abrol, Ravi Kumar, Kamal Nain Bhan, expressed shock and grief over the untimely and sad demise of Bharat Singh Manhas.
The members of JKCCA appreciated the professional commitment and contribution of Manhas, in promoting art, culture, and languages in Jammu & Kashmir. Under his guidance, the cultural Academy had become a hub of art & cultural events, involving visual artists, writes and performers. They said that the communities in the circles of art, culture and literature would remember his services to a large number of people from the fields of art & culrture.
O P Sharma, director paying his tributes, said that Bharat Singh Manhas has played role during his tenure for the continuous development of art, culture and languages which will always be remembered.
The members prayed Almighty to grace his soul to rest in heavenly abode and bless his family members to bear this irreparable loss.
