Jammu, July 25: The stage is set for a high-octane final as JKCA Leopards and Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar secured convincing victories in their respective semi-final clashes to book their places in the final of the prestigious Inter-School U-14 Boys Cricket Tournament, organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).A statement issued here said that in the first semi-final held at DPS Srinagar, JKCA Leopards produced a dominant performance, thrashing Green Valley School by a staggering 195 runs. After opting to bat, the Leopards amassed 261/7 in 25 overs, courtesy of a sublime unbeaten century (*101) by Arsalan and a solid 66-run knock from Anas bin Irshad. In response, Green Valley crumbled for 66 runs in 17 overs, with Qamran claiming 3 key wickets. Arsalan was declared Player of the Match, receiving his award from Arusa Rasool, Coordinator, DPS Srinagar. The second semi-final, hosted at Doon School, was a far closer affair, as DPS Srinagar edged past the hosts by 7 runs. DPS posted 155/7 in 25 overs, powered by Inaam Imraj (48), Hashir Mohd (32), and Rafid (30)*. In a tense chase, Doon School fell just short, finishing at 148, despite a valiant 44-run effort from Hayaan. Azam Asif of DPS Srinagar produced a match-winning spell, bagging 4 wickets including a hat-trick, and was rightly named Player of the Match. Meanwhile, in Jammu, three matches saw commanding victories–JP World School overwhelmed GD Goenka by 7 wickets, after bowling them out for 41. Imtiyaz, with 4 wickets, was adjudged Player of the Match by Principal Aparna Kohli. Heritage School defeated JK Public School by 5 wickets, chasing 152 in just 19.3 overs, thanks to a blistering 94 by Saksh Gupta, who also took 2 wickets and was named Player of the Match. JKCA Tigers cruised past DPS Jammu by 10 wickets, bundling them out for a meagre 26 runs. Ibrahim took 3 wickets and was named Player of the Match, while Rahat Raina (15)* helped seal the win in just 3 overs. The grand final between JKCA Leopards and DPS Srinagar promises to be a gripping contest as two of the tournament’s most consistent teams face off for the coveted title.
