Kathua, June 20: The Sub Office of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organised a soulful Mushaira at the district Library Kathua Friday, centered on the theme “Operation Sindoor”,a heartfelt tribute to the valour of India’s armed forces and the enduring spirit of patriotism. The event was held in the gracious presence of MLA Kathua, Bharat Bhushan, who attended as Chief Guest and lauded the Academy’s role in connecting patriotism with art and literature.
The program began on a solemn note with two minutes of silence observed in memory of Late Sh. Madan Lal Toofan, a respected poet and scheduled participant in the Mushaira. His untimely demise a few days ago had led to the postponement of the original date. The gathering paid heartfelt homage to his literary legacy and emotional presence. In his address, Chief Guest Bharat Bhushan praised the Academy for promoting regional languages and honouring national sentiment through cultural expression. He urged the youth to take inspiration from such platforms. The Mushaira concluded with a vote of thanks from JKAACL officials and a reaffirmation of their commitment to honouring art, language, and legacy in every form.
