Jammu, Apr 24: JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla Monday said that unemployment and inflation in Jammu and Kashmir is at an all time high which has pushed people towards starvation while the people are fed up with the BJP government.
The former Minister said this while interacting with prominent persons of RS Pura Jammu in South constituency. He said Congress has always played the role of unifying force in sensitive J&K, having regional, religious and linguistic and cultural diversities and at times has suffered electoral losses also because of the capabilities of rival parties to exploit different kinds of emotions of the people.
Bhalla said people should not get carried away by the negative forces who are trying to create division and hatred in the State. Former Minister demanded special recruitment in the army and other central paramilitary forces for the border area people.
He hit out at the BJP for misleading people on every count just to attain power but didn’t care about the urges and aspirations of the people. He also criticized the ruling government for its failure to provide basic amenities to the people of J&K. He asserted that the people of J&K are suffering due to power scarcity, and potable water.
Bhalla said that J&K has witnessed massive destruction during decade’s of turmoil and rising unemployment is a major concern. He urged the government to secure jobs in Jammu and Kashmir for local youth.
The congress leader asked the party activists and block functionaries to gear up their activities to address public issues.
He said that all the BCC functionaries must reach up to the people in their respective areas and project their issues and said that people are now fed up with the BJP lead dictatorial regime. “Common man was suffering in the hands of the administration which has adopted an adamant behaviour and is working on lines which are completely anti- public”.
He also highlighted issue of various roads which are in dilapidated condition and urged upon the administration of the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, to pay urgent attention as public is suffering badly.
