Jammu, Feb 27: The J&K unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to win 370 seats. The party plans to organise programmes at 370 locations across J&K covering 285 blocks.
Tarun Chugh, the J&K BJP Incharge and national general secretary of the party, announced this decision here, saying the aim is to reach out to the maximum number of voters in each polling booth to ensure the party achieves its target of 370 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
The BJP has set a target of winning 370 Lok Sabha seats, he said. 370 is a symbolic reference in Jammu and Kashmir, as Article 370 was revoked by the party on August 5, 2019.
In Jammu and Kashmir, Chugh said the programmes will be organised at 370 locations covering 285 blocks of J&K.
He added, “BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to making India a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and as a part of this determination, we have sought suggestions from the people of the country through different mediums”.
He said the party’s mission is to receive around one crore suggestions from all over the country by March 15. “The nation is marching towards development and this progress is not going to stop now. Lotus will bloom from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 2024,” the BJP leader asserted. “We want people to suggest a roadmap and under PM Modi what milestones can be achieved because BJP is the people’s party.”
Tarun Chugh urged people to contribute their ideas via various channels, including giving a missed call at 9090902024, which would prompt them to register their suggestions through a received link or via the NaMo app.
Meanwhile, the BJP unit of the J&K has formed a manifesto committee for Jammu and Kashmir, which will be headed by Sunil Sethi. R S Pathania, Abhinav Sharma, Devender Singh Rana, Shamsher Singh Manhas, Ranjit Singh, Jitender and Rakesh Gupta will be the members of the party’s manifesto committee.
