Javed Rana visits Mendhar villages affected by LoC shelling

Mendhar, May 13: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment amd Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana has reminded people of the scourge of war and highlighted the huge sigh of relief that the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan has brought to the people particularly in border districts, where daily life gets badly impacted by hostilities.
The Minister stated this while conducting an extensive tour of affected areas in Mendhar and paid condolences to the family of Late Balwinder Kour, a victim of hostilities.
The intent was to provide support and comfort to the grieving families who have lost loved ones and property due to cross border shelling and assess the damages to property amd livestock. He was accompanied by the officers of Sub-Divisional Administration who briefed the Minister about the measures taken for the affected families .
He assured the affected families of all possible help from the Omar Abdullah led government and said that it stands with its people in this time of great difficulty and pain.
He lauded the efforts of the district administration in relocating people to safer places and taking other subsequent measures to minimise the suffering caused by the hostilities.
He stated that the administration remained vigilant and proactive in ensuring both relief and safety for the residents of border districts.
He instructed the Sub-Divisional Administration to expedite case processing for early relief disbursement to all affected families.
Later, the Minister met the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the shelling.
He offered condolences to Lt. Balwinder Kour’s family at Mankote Mendhar, mourning her tragic death in cross-LoC shelling.
He extended his deep sympathies with the bereaved families and said that no words can heal their pain and suffering.
