Jammu, April 23: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh launched a sharp attack on Robert Vadra on Wednesday, accusing him of indirectly siding with anti-national elements through his remarks on the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

Chugh questioned whether Vadra was “dancing to the tunes of anti-national forces,” following comments that appeared to blame the Modi government for the deadly attack, which claimed several lives in the popular tourist destination of Pahalgam. “While Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge rightly called the attack a strike against India’s sovereignty, Robert Vadra — better known as Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law — has chosen to target the government instead of the perpetrators,” Chugh said. He accused Vadra of spreading a “dangerous and ignorant narrative” and claimed his statements reveal a deep ideological confusion within the Gandhi family. “These remarks are not only irresponsible, but they also undermine national unity,” Chugh asserted.

He further demanded that Priyanka Gandhi break her silence on the issue and called upon Sonia Gandhi to publicly clarify whether she supports Vadra’s stance, which he termed “anti-national.”

Reiterating the BJP’s commitment to national security, Chugh condemned the Pahalgam attack as a “premeditated massacre” and said reports suggest terrorists asked victims their religion before opening fire — an act he described as “demonic and inhumane.”  “This is New India,” he declared. “We don’t just mourn, we respond. Every martyr will be avenged. This was not just an attack on Pahalgam, it was an assault on the soul of the nation.” Chugh concluded by urging the country to unite behind its security forces and reaffirm the national resolve against terrorism under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy.
