Inter Zone U-17 Girls Handball Competition Lights Up GCOPE Gadoora

Zonal Level Kabaddi, Chess, Carrom Events Witness Massive Participation

Srinagar, May 15: The Department of Youth Services and Sports Ganderbal Thursday successfully conducted a series of sports competitions today, engaging a large number of students from across the district in both inter-zone and zonal level events.
At the district level, an Inter Zone Handball competition for U17 girls was held at GCOPE Gadoora. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all four zones of the district. DYSSO Ganderbal, Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal, was present on the occasion and interacted with the student players. He encouraged them with insightful suggestions about the game and ensured the availability of essential sports equipment for their development. In the end, Zone Kangan emerged victorious, while Zone Tullamulla secured the runner-up position. Both teams were felicitated with trophies by DYSSO Ganderbal. In addition to the district-level event, multiple zonal level competitions were held across Ganderbal. Zone Tullamulla organized an Inter School Kabaddi competition for U-14 boys at BHSS Kurhama, featuring 124 enthusiastic student players. Best probables were selected for the upcoming inter Zone District level championship. An intramural competition in Kho-Kho for girls was also conducted by BHSS Batwina.Zone Hariganiwan also hosted Inter School Chess and Carrom competitions for U-17 girls at BHSS Hariganiwan.The events attracted a commendable number of participants, and standout performers were selected to represent the zone in the upcoming Inter Zone District Level Championships. The prize distribution ceremony was held in the presence of senior officials, who felicitated the winning and runner-up teams.
