Baramulla, Nov 04: The two-week Inter-Disciplinary Research Workshop on “Advanced Analytical Instrumentation Tools & Techniques,” held at Government Degree College Baramulla, (Autonomous) concluded on Monday. Organized from October 22 to November 4, the workshop provided a platform for faculty and students to engage in cutting-edge training and intellectual exchange.
The valedictory session commenced with a welcome address by the college principal, Prof. Mohammad Shafi Lone, who lauded the efforts of the college’s research committee for organizing this impactful program. Prof. Lone expressed his commitment to making such initiatives a regular feature of the college’s academic offerings, enhancing its role as an autonomous institution of excellence.
A comprehensive report on the workshop was delivered by Dr. Humaira Qadri, Dean of Research at the college, who summarized the technical sessions that covered advanced instrumentation techniques across multiple scientific domains, as well as training in programming languages such as Python, R, and LaTeX. Dr. Qadri expressed gratitude to the distinguished resource persons for their engaging and effective contributions, which were met with high praise from participants. She also announced that several similar programs are in the pipeline for the current academic session.
Prof. Tariq Ahmad Chalkoo, Dean of Skill Development and Staff Secretary of college, emphasized the importance of ongoing professional development for faculty and students, encouraging them to stay ahead in their respective fields through such training. “This workshop is strengthening the teacher development because teacher is the one who is in frontline for teacher learning process. Also in the contemporary time there will be many challenges as the world is advancing day by day, severe force of learning and techniques coming on our way and world knowledge is advancing on exponential rate. In this case, we have to prepare our workforce to face challenges and create opportunities for the students and learners,” he added.
Expressing his satisfaction, Prof. Sadat Hassan Kar, Dean of Sciences, highlighted the workshop’s role in fostering advanced learning and intellectual discussions, congratulating the organizers for their dedicated efforts.
Participants described the workshop as an enlightening and unique experience, praising its comprehensive coverage and practical insights.
