SRINAGAR, Oct 28: The Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has proposed a change in school timings for the Kashmir division, set to take effect on November 1, 2024, citing the onset of colder temperatures.
In a communication addressed to the Principal Secretary of the School Education Department, the DSEK stated, “In line with previous practices and considering the decreasing temperatures, it is proposed to revise school timings from November 1.”
According to the proposal, schools within the municipal limits of Srinagar will operate from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for both government and private institutions. Schools located outside the Srinagar municipal limits, as well as those in other parts of the Kashmir province, are recommended to follow timings from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
