In 5 months, over 87k patients avail OPD services at AIIMS Jmu

Jammu, Jan 02: Over 87000 patients availed the OPD services in five months at AIIMS in Vijaipur area of Jammu region since it was thrown open for public in August last year.

The patients reporting at Jammu AIIMS in the OPDs of different departments in 2024 include 65,993 new patients and 21,504 follow-ups. The OPD services at Jammu AIIMS were started on August 1, 2024.
Jammu AIIMS is also all set to add 250 beds for patients in the hospital this month for enhancing patient care.
“We are working to cater to 2500 patients per day in our OPD services in 2025,” Director AIIMS, Jammu, Dr Shakti Gupta, informed Rising Kashmir, while adding, “We will also operationalise 750-beds at AIIMS this year”.
In Inpatient and Emergency care, AIIMS Jammu has managed 679 patients in 100 operational beds in five months since August 2024.
“We will make operational 250 more beds at AIIMS within a month and 750 beds within six months”, Dr Shakti said.
He said that the state-of-the-art diagnostics are being provided to the patients at AIIMS Jammu, including 3 Tesla MRI, 128-slice CT, and advanced screening technologies.
Over 3,409 USG scans, 554 MRI scans, 896 CT scans, and 5,926 X-rays, have been conducted at Jammu AIIMS in the last 5 months in 2024.
The Trauma and Emergency Department of AIIMS Jammu has also dealt with 3,135 cases, with 289 ICU admissions and 54 dialysis sessions performed in five months of 2024.
