Srinagar, May 15: In a significant development toward strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the Kashmir Valley, the Imam Hussain (A.S) Foundation Thursday inaugurated a modern Dialysis Unit at Imam Hussain (A.S) Hospital, Bemina, Srinagar.

The facility was formally inaugurated by Mohd Ashraf Hakak, Administrator Associated Hospitals, in the esteemed presence of the Board of Trustees of the Imam Hussain (A.S) Foundation, local dignitaries, healthcare professionals, and members of the community. Dialysis services will now be available at a subsidized rate of Rs. 1640 per session, strictly in accordance with government-approved rates, offering much-needed relief to patients suffering from chronic kidney disease and other renal conditions. In his address, Hakak lauded the efforts of the Foundation and emphasized the importance of expanding affordable health services to the grassroots level. “Facilities like these are a beacon of hope for many. The Imam Hussain (A.S) Foundation has set an example by combining community service with high medical standards,” he said.

Special recognition was given to Dr. Iftikhar Hussain Gazi, Medical Superintendent of Imam Hussain (A.S) Hospital, for his tireless efforts in planning, coordinating, and overseeing the establishment of the dialysis unit. His professional dedication and leadership played a pivotal role in ensuring the timely execution of this important project. Adil Hussain, General Secretary of the Imam Hussain (A.S) Foundation, expressed profound gratitude to all those who supported the initiative. “This milestone is a result of collective effort—our dedicated team, our generous donors, and above all, our vision to serve humanity. I would like to thank Dr. Gazi for his exceptional commitment, and the entire medical staff for their readiness to serve with compassion.” He added, “Our goal is to make quality healthcare accessible to all, particularly the underserved. This unit is a vital step in that direction, aligned with our core values inspired by the legacy of Imam Hussain (A.S).”

The inauguration ceremony concluded with a guided tour of the new facility, followed by a vote of thanks and prayers for continued success in serving the community. The Imam Hussain (A.S) Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to provide essential services in healthcare, education, and social welfare, and invites continued public and institutional support for its ongoing and future initiatives
