IBPR, SKUAST-K organise EAP at GDC Magam

Srinagar, Dec 19: The Institute of Business and Policy Research (IBPR), SKUAST-Kashmir, organized Entrepreneurship Awareness Program on “Entrepreneurial Marketing Orientation and Skill Development for Aspiring Entrepreneurs” at Government Degree College, Magam.
A statement issued here said that this program aimed to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with essential skills and strategies to navigate the dynamic entrepreneurial landscape. “The event featured expert speakers who shared their insights and experiences on entrepreneurial marketing and skill-building. Participants gained practical knowledge on developing innovative marketing strategies, managing resources effectively and creating sustainable business models to thrive in a competitive environment,” the statement said.
It said that Dr. Shabeena Kuttay, Coordinator from Government Degree College, Magam, lauded the initiative by IBPR, SKUAST-Kashmir, and underscored the importance of such programs in preparing students for real-world challenges. “This initiative not only fosters a spirit of innovation but also installs confidence and self-reliance among the aspiring entrepreneurs,” she said.
The statement said that Dr. Abid Sultan, Organizing Secretary and Scientist, IBPR, SKUAST-Kashmir, highlighted the transformative role of entrepreneurial education and skill development. He accentuated that the entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business; it is about identifying opportunities, solving problems creatively, and adding value to society. “Through this program, we aim to ignite a spark of innovation and provide actionable insights into entrepreneurial marketing and skill development,” he said.
He further encouraged participants to embrace creativity, resilience and continuous learning as they embark on their entrepreneurial journeys. Prof. Farhet A. Shaheen, Senior Scientist, IBPR, emphasized the pivotal role of entrepreneurship in fostering innovation and economic growth. He held that the programs like these inspire young minds and equip them with the tools and knowledge needed to turn their ideas into impactful ventures. “In today’s competitive world, skills in marketing and resource management are indispensable for aspiring entrepreneurs,” he stated.
Prof. Tasleema Bano, Principal of Government Degree College, Magam, graced the event as the Chief Guest and commended the collaborative efforts of IBPR, SKUAST-Kashmir, for conducting the awareness program. “She stated that entrepreneurial skill development is a vital for progress, innovation, and self-reliance. This program is a significant step toward empowering our students with the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed to succeed as entrepreneurs,” the statement said, adding that “the Principal concluded with words of encouragement, urging the participants to make the most of such platforms and take bold steps toward realizing their entrepreneurial aspirations.”
