Srinagar, May 03: The Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL), is on the brink of making history with its Guinness World Record attempt, aiming to secure the “most pledges” for a dermatological disease awareness campaign in 24 hours.
Scheduled for May 5-6, 2024, this event underscores our unwavering commitment to raising awareness about dermatological diseases, the IADVL said in a press release issued here.
It said that in an era filled with misinformation and amateur advice, the role of NMC-qualified dermatologists has never been more crucial. “Established in 1973, IADVL stands as a beacon of expertise and trust in Indian dermatology care. With over 17,410 qualified members, including dermatologists, venereologists, and leprologists, who are board-certified, IADVL plays a pivotal role in setting standards, disseminating knowledge, and advocating for top-tier dermatological care. Today, IADVL remains steadfast in upholding professional standards, ensuring patients receive evidence-based care. Through various initiatives such as public awareness campaigns and educational programs, IADVL empowers both its members and the public with reliable dermatological knowledge,” the association said.
To prepare for the Guinness World Record attempt, IADVL said it has meticulously planned every detail, including the creation of a dedicated website to streamline the pledging process for IADVL members. “A Digital Forensics Team has been engaged to carefully audit online pledges, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Guinness World Record standards. Submission of proofs and documentation further solidifies our integrity and commitment to this endeavour,” it said.
IADVL has reaffirmed its dedication to advancing dermatology care, fostering public awareness, and making a positive impact in the lives of those affected by dermatological diseases and skin cosmetic ailments.
“Join us as we break barriers, set new records, and pave the way toward a healthier future for all,” the association said, adding, “IADVL is committed to being subject-friendly, society-friendly, member-friendly to achieve a healthy skin, healthy body and healthy nation.”
