Huge voter turnout expected in Assembly polls: Div Com Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 28: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, V K Bidhuri, announced on Wednesday that all preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections in Kashmir are complete. Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Bidhuri expressed confidence in a strong voter turnout, attributing it to the high level of competition due to the localized nature of Assembly elections.
He urged voters to exercise their democratic right and participate actively in the elections, emphasizing the importance of checking voter lists to ensure a smooth polling process. “Security arrangements are in place to ensure a fair election,” Bidhuri assured, adding that SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) activities are also being conducted to raise awareness among voters about their democratic rights.
Bidhuri further highlighted special arrangements made for the elections, including the establishment of model polling stations and provisions for home voting for seniors aged 85 and above. He encouraged voters to turn out in large numbers, reminiscent of the robust participation seen in the previous parliamentary elections.
