Jammu, Aug 15: Government Hari Singh Higher Secondary School (GHS HSS) Camp, Bohri, Jammu celebrated 78th Independence Day with patriotic fervour in an impressive, colourful and well attended function in its school premises.
Social Activist and Vice President of Social Organisation 108 Sevak, SK Kandroo was the chief guest on the occasion, while IK Khushu, Ashwani Bangroo and Smt Usha Wanchoo were the guests of honour. The function was presided over by Principal of the institution, Sanjay Kumar Pandit, who along with the chief guest hoisted the National Flag amid the presentation of the National Anthem.
The chief guest, SK Kandroo and Principal of the institution, Sh Sanjay Kumar Pandit spoke on the significance of the day.
The students presented a variety of cultural items which enthralled the audience. The cultural items included patriotic songs and dances, besides speeches on the importance of the day.
On the occasion, the meritorious and needy students of the institution were presented with school bags donated by 108 Sevak.
Meenakshi Koul, Senior Lecturer Botany presented a vote of thanks, while Rajesh Dhar, Lecturer in Physical Education conducted the proceedings of the programme.
