Jammu, April 07: Apni Party Youth Wing Friday said that the Govt has no policy on how to deal with the increasing unemployment among the educated youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a party statement, the issue was discussed threadbare in a meeting of youth which was held here at Apni Party Office in Gandhi Nagar.
During the meeting, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan expressed serious concern over unemployment and failure of Govt to deal with the situation as the youth have disheartened with the poor response of the authorities.
“The recruitments which were conducted for various posts in Govt departments turned out to be major recruitment scams and they were cancelled compromising the future of the aspirants,” he said.
Khan demanded a fair selection process so that the aspirant’s future is not compromised and they get employment. “The Govt should also formulate a policy for transparent recruitment and look for options to engage youth for their livelihood”.
Meanwhile, State General Secretary Youth Wing, Abhay Bakaya said that “The unemployment is a challenge for the Govt but the society is facing much harder issues of drug addiction and its smuggling from across the border.”
Bakaya said that drug addiction has become a serious concern for the society across Jammu and Kashmir.
“Many youth have lost their lives due to drug addiction and it has become a menace which needs to be completely eradicated from society for the welfare of all,” he said.
He demanded that the people should come forward and help the police department and other agencies working to curb the drug addiction and smuggling of narcotics in J&K. He also highlighted the role of family members and society to counter the drug addiction menace.
