JAMMU, Jan 29: The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Government has directed all newly elected MLAs of the Union Territory (UT) to submit their annual development plans for various projects in their constituencies.
Sources informed Rising Kashmir that the government has asked all MLAs to submit an annual development plan, with estimates ranging between ₹25-30 crore, for carrying out development works in their respective constituencies. A letter in this regard has been sent by the offices of the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of all 22 districts to the MLAs of their respective districts.
The letter instructs the MLAs to submit their annual plans before the start of the upcoming budget session, which is scheduled to take place in Jammu in March.
Several MLAs, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed they had received the letter from the DC office requesting the submission of the annual development plans for their constituencies.
The development plans will cover various departments, and MLAs are required to submit the plans in time for review during the budget session. The decision on the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation for the newly elected MLAs will also be made during the session.
Currently, the ongoing development works in J&K are being funded under the Capex Budget.
