GMC Baramulla, Handwara organise 16th MDP: ‘Boosting knowledge, skill vital for nursing professionals, doctors for patient healthcare’

Srinagar, March 15: National President Academy of Hospital Administration AHA India Dr Yashpal Sharma on Wednesday inaugurated the 16th Batch of the State Level Management Development Programme (MDP) here. The inaugural session was also graced and addressed by Dr Saleem ur Rehman, Director General Family Welfare J&K as a special invitee. Prof (Dr) G H Yatoo Prof & Head Hospital Administration SKIMS was the guest of honour, Prof (Dr) Iffat Hussan Principal GMC Baramulla & Handwara, HODs, faculty, delegates and a team of AHA INDIA and Management GMCH Baramulla.
The two-day MDP for doctors, nursing professionals and tutors of nursing colleges from districts Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora at Govt Medical College Baramulla was organised by the Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA), India in collaboration with Govt Medical College and Hospital Baramulla wherein more than 130 participants and delegates are attending.
Dr. Saleem Ur Rehman in his address highlighted the role of the Academy of Hospital Administration in boosting and enchaining the knowledge and skill which he said are very useful for nursing professionals as well as doctors working in various institutions for patient healthcare. He congratulated AHA for organizing programmes in all GMs of J&K and training participants from all districts. He congratulated and specially thanked Dr. Yashpal Sharma for winning the second term as national president AHA India and organizing 16 MDPs in a short span of a few months.
Dr. Yashpal Sharma who is Director Coordination New Medical Colleges, Nursing and Paramedical Colleges Jammu & Kashmir and President AHA India, in his address, highlighted the role and objective in the country for reshaping and establishing various health institutions besides conducting professional development courses at the national headquarters Noida and other parts of the country.
“The role of nursing professionals and doctors is very important for patient healthcare while delivering services in the hospital,” he said. He showed a complete roadmap to improve healthcare in J&K by organising such training workshops through AHA India and Jammu Chapter which has already organised 16 MDPs in less than a year all over the state.
Prof (Dr) Iffat Hussain presented a welcome address and Dr Arun Sharma Medical Superintendent Maternity Hospital Gandhinagar (General Secretary AHA Jammu Chapter), presented a vote of thanks, while Sadiq Khan handled the stage proceedings.
