Gang of burglars and bike lifters busted in Baramulla’s Pattan: Police

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said to have busted a gang of burglars and bike lifters in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.                            A Police spokesperson said, “On 14/07/2023 Police Station Pattan recieved a written application from John Mohammad War S/O Ab Ahad War R/O Palpora Pattan to the effect that some unknown thieves have stolen his Motor bicycle bearing Registration No. JK05E -8826 on 07/07/2023 when he kept his Motor Bicycle parked in front of his Shop situated at Jamia Mohalla Pattan and went to offer Friday prayers and on return he found that his Motor Bicycle is missing and has been stolen by some unknown thieves.”                           

He said, on receipt of the application case FIR No. 231/2023 U/S 379 IPC stands registered in Police Station Pattan* and investigation taken up. 

“During course of investigation some suspects were called to the Police Station for questioning. Mean while the name of one suspect namely Mohd Abbas Daint S/O Mohd Ayoub Daint R/O Kusambagh Hakbara Hajin Bandipora came forth and accordingly he was called to Police Station Pattan and during questioning he confessed that he has stolen the Motor Bicycle. Besides he disclosed that he has also stolen 03 other Motor Bicycles and was supplying the same to one *Sajad Ahmad Pahloo S/O Mohd Ramzan Pahloo R/O Madwan Hajin* who was assigned to change the parts of these stolen Motor Bicycles and after making modification in Motor Bicycles he was selling them”, he said.

The spokesperson said that during further questioning of the suspects they further disclosed two other persons namely Lateef Ahmad Fafoo S/O Gh Ahmad Fafoo R/O Gund Prang Madwan Hajin and Sajad Ahmad Wagay S/O Mohd Maqbool Wagay R/O Gund Prang Madwan Hajin who are involved in theft of Motor Bicycles got arrested in the instant case and all the stolen motor bicycles was recovered from Gund Prang and Madwan Hajin Bandipora. 

All the accused are being questioned in order to recover more stolen property from them.
