Srinagar, Aug 10: Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Srinagar Sector, Ajay Kumar Yadav on Thursday said that comprehensive preparations have been made to ensure smooth conduct of all Independence Day events in Kashmir.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a free medical camp organized by 32 Battalion of CRPF deployed at Maisuma Lal Chowk under the Civic Action Program, he said, “The dedicated checkpoints, (nakas) have been strategically positioned at multiple locations throughout Srinagar and other areas with the primary objective of maintaining a secure and peaceful environment,” IG CRPF said.
He said these measures have been taken to uphold the tranquility and order during the upcoming Independence Day celebrations in the region. “We stand fully prepared for the tranquil observance of Independence Day on August 15 throughout the Kashmir region,” IG CRPF said. He also conveyed that a meticulous deployment strategy has been devised, encompassing procedures such as random inspections. IG CRPF highlighted the construction of new security checkpoints both within the city and in other locations. Operational officers are actively overseeing unfolding situations on the ground, he said.
“To ensure the maintenance of peace, nightly checks and patrols have been instituted as routine practices. These comprehensive measures are being implemented with the overarching goal of upholding a harmonious environment,” IG CRPF said.
The senior CRPF also underscored the force’s readiness to effectively address any forthcoming challenges. In addition, IG Yadav highlighted that the ongoing medical camp is offering complementary medicines and treatments to the public.
He affirmed the CRPF’s commitment to extending further specialized treatment to individuals if necessary. “Should any patient require advanced or specific medical attention, the CRPF is dedicated to facilitating that as well,” he reassured. During the inauguration of the program, IG CRPF Yadav acknowledged the commitment of 132 Bn CRPF and expressed appreciation towards the growing teamwork spirit.
