Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday said that they have arrested four gamblers at Mirchimar Mirgung area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A Police Spokesperson said that Police party of Police Post Mirgund on routine patrolling found gamblers at Mirchimar Mirgund who were being involved in gambling. On seeing the police party they tried to flee from the spot but the alert patrolling party chased them and we’re apprehended tactfully.
“The arrested gamblers were identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Rather S/o Gh Mohammad Rather R/o Narbal, Fayaz Ahmad Marazi S/o Sanaullah R/o Narbal, Aijaz Ahmad Rather S/o Gh Mohammad Rather R/o Narbal & Sameer Ahmad Tabardar S/o Mohammad Subhan Tabardar R/o Narbal”, he said.
He said that Playing cards alongwith stake money of Rs 18650/- were recovered from them.Case under sections of 13 Gambling Act registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation taken up.
