Jammu, Nov 26: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers celebrated the Foundation Day of the party on Sunday, with great enthusiasm at its office in Jammu North. The event was attended by senior leaders as well as ground-level workers in large numbers, who raised slogans of “Kejriwal Zinda Baad” in appreciation of his bold and historic decisions against the deteriorating pollution in Indian politics.
The AAP leaders addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of Arvind Kejriwal’s decisions, including the transformation of AAP into a national party in record time “despite facing oppression and suppression from the ruling dispensation, the BJP”. “The more you suppress, the more it will rebound,” they said on the occasion.
Ridiculing the leaders of the ruling party, the AAP leaders pointed out the irony that those who once criticized Arvind Kejriwal for distributing free “rewaries” are now themselves involved in providing free electricity, Rs 500 per LPG cylinder, and other incentives in the poll-bound states. The leaders demanded that instead of making election promises, the BJP should focus on implementing similar measures in the 10 states currently under their rule.
The senior AAP leaders resolved to take Kejriwal’s message to every household and expose what they termed as false guarantees of the ruling dispensation. They expressed concerns about the country’s increasing debt, record devaluation of the Indian rupee compared to the US dollar, and the alleged destruction of democracy and democratic constitutional institutions. The leaders warned that such actions are dangerous for the unity and integrity of the nation.
The AAP leaders also criticized the timing of investigations by agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and Income Tax (IT), alleging that these agencies become active only during elections and selectively target opposition leaders to tarnish their image for the electoral gains of the ruling dispensation.
Prominent figures present at the ceremony included Ram Singh Chauhan, Kuldeep Kumar Rao, Romesh Lal Bhagat, Adv Dalvinder Kumar Bhagat, S Ranjodh Singh, Om Parkash Sharma, Sandeep Parihar and others.
