Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir V K Bidhuri assured that extensive security measures are in place to ensure a safe and festive atmosphere across the Valley. Speaking to the media during the Full Dress Rehearsal, Bidhuri highlighted the thorough security arrangements and the enthusiastic participation of students and school participants in the preparations.
Describing the energetic atmosphere, Bidhuri remarked, “What you are seeing is just the tip of the iceberg. Our kids and youngsters are brimming with enthusiasm, setting a high threshold for this year’s celebrations.”
Bidhuri assured the public of unrestricted attendance during the Independence Day events, urging everyone to arrive on time. “There is open entry and open passes. The excitement is palpable, and I encourage everyone to come early to secure their place,” he said.
Extending his best wishes to the people of Kashmir, Bidhuri urged them to celebrate the day with respect and reverence. “This is a sacred festival celebrated nationwide. I am confident that this year’s program will be the best one yet,” he added.
He also reminded attendees to avoid bringing restricted items such as tobacco and cigarettes to the event, underscoring the day’s national significance.
