Srinagar, Jan 23: In a cinematic ode to the vibrant culture of Kashmir, Kishore Film Production is currently shooting their latest project, “Firdous,” in the picturesque Kashmir Valley.
Producer Karishma Kishore shared insights with Rising Kashmir about the film, which seeks to bring forward the untold stories of the people, particularly those residing in the vicinity of Dal Lake.
In an exclusive interview, Kishore emphasized the movie’s commitment to showcasing the resilience and joy embedded in the Kashmiri way of life, steering away from prevalent negative stereotypes found in many Bollywood productions. “Firdous” is poised to offer a fresh perspective, highlighting the responsible nature of the locals and unveiling cultural nuances that often go unnoticed.
The cast features a mix of well-known theatre actors, including Ali Saifudin, Adil Gurezi, Zoya Afroz, Ravira Bhardawaj, and local talents such as Shaheen, Farhat, Afifa, and Rayees. The movie is set to explore the responsibilities faced by individuals in Kashmir, presenting a narrative that celebrates the positive aspects of their lives.
Karishma Kishore expressed gratitude for the warm cooperation received from the local community during the filming process, praising their understanding and support. A significant portion of the film will unfold around the iconic Dal Lake, offering audiences a captivating glimpse into the unique lifestyle of its residents.
Beyond “Firdous,” Kishore hinted at broader ambitions, revealing plans to shoot a full-fledged Bollywood movie in the region, featuring top-tier actors from the industry. As the production unfolds against the backdrop of Kashmir’s stunning landscapes, “Firdous” stands poised to contribute to the cultural narrative of the region and transcend stereotypes.
