Srinagar, Jul 03: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is in its last stage.
Replying to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address, the PM said that in Jammu and Kashmir, the fight against terrorism is at its final stage. He said, “We are moving forward with full vigour to eradicate the remaining network of terrorism.”
He said that in the past ten years, there has been a lot of decline in the number of terrorist incidents compared to before.
“In Jammu and Kashmir, terrorism is coming to an end and in this fight, the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir are helping us,” he added.
On unprecedented voter turnout in the recent Lok Sabha elections in J&K, PM said that the statistics of the voters have broken the record of the last four decades.”This is not just about people voting. It shows that India’s constitution and election commission are trusted. This is a very big success.”
Speaking about the region’s turbulent past, the PM said that in many directions, there were bombings, strikes, terrorist threats, bomb blasts here and there.” However, he praised the resilience and democratic commitment of the people, saying, “This time, people have decided their fate. I congratulate the voters of Jammu and Kashmir.”
“Today, tourism is setting a new record there. Investment is increasing, showcasing the positive changes spurred by enhanced security and stability in Jammu and Kashmir”, he added.
