Fee structure regulated by fixation committee to be applicable from Apr 2023

Srinagar, Nov 04: In line with the uniform academic calendar, the government has said that in winter zones the fee structure regulated by the Fee Fixation Committee session 2022-23 will be applicable from April-2023 to March-2024 instead of November-2022 to October-2023.
It also said that the fee structure for 2023-24 will be applicable for 2024-25 and 2024-25 for session 2025-26 respectively.
Committee for Fixation and Regulation of Fee of Private Schools (FFRC), Justice (Retd) Muzaffar Hussain Attar said, “The rule 8 A of the Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools (Fixation Determination and Regulation of Fee) Rules 2022 provides that ‘the private School shall submit a proposal to the Committee on the proforma as may be prescribed by the Committee. The proposal for fixation, determination and regulation of fees for next year shall be submitted three months before the next academic year starts.”
In an order, Attar also said that the academic session in winter zones used to commence in November and in summer zones it commences in April. “Accordingly in terms of Rule supra, private schools of summer zone were asked to submit files for fixation and regulation of fee by or Before December 31—three months of commencement of academic session.”
Attar said, “During this period the committee regulated the fee structure of more than 1200 schools of UT of JK for three sessions in each case. In winter zone the fee was regulated for the sessions 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 in other cases 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 while as in summer zones the fee was regulated for sessions 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 and in other cases 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26.”
Meanwhile the government of UT of JK has made a uniform academic calendar (March-April Session) operational in whole Jammu and Kashmir. The new academic session in winter zones like in summer zones will now commence in April 2023 instead of November-2022 in line with the uniform Calendar.
The chairperson said, “In line with the uniform academic calendar and to bring clarity, it is ordered that in the winter zone the fee structure regulated by the committee for session 2022-23 will be applicable from April-2023 to March-2024 instead of November-2022 to October-2023. The fee structure for 2023-24 will be applicable for 2024-25 and 2024-25 for session 2025-26 respectively.”
“In Summer Zone the session begins in March-April and fee has been regulated accordingly as such there will be no change. The Schools shall collect fees as regulated by the Committee,” he said adding “In case any private school in winter zone has received advance fee in November-2022 from parents for coming session, the same will be applicable from April-2023.”
