SAMBA, DEC 18: Motor Vehicle department Samba on Sunday organized an orientation program for dealers and CSC operators to educate them about various initiatives taken by the transport department to provide department-related services to citizens in a faceless manner offering dispensing with a minimum requirement of a physical visit to any RTO/ARTO.
Presenting demonstrations, the ARTO Samba Rehana Tabassam informed the CSC Operators and dealers about the recent revolutionary amendments in ALL J&K Contract Carriage Route Permits as these are first responders to citizens while availing faceless services. She said that in order to provide convenient, faceless and hassle-free services, the transport department, under the guidance of Secretary Transport Department Ramaswamy Prassana, was making all-out efforts to make citizens aware of such pro-people steps as these are very beneficial to the public and will lead to thinning of crowds at RTOs.
Giving further details, she informed that several services besides contract carriage permits are already provided by the department in a faceless manner e.g. other focal services which can be availed by citizens from the comfort of their homes include issuance and renewal of learner’s licenses, renewal of driving license for which test of competence to drive is not required, duplicate driving license, change of address in driving license, removal /addition of bank endorsement from Certificate of Registration, transfer of ownership of non-commercial vehicles, surrender of the class of vehicle from the license, renewal of route permit, change of address in DL or RC will also be accessible in a contactless manner.
She informed that an applicant can easily avail these services either from home or from any CSC center by simply linking and authenticating Aadhaar-based details online which make online faceless process simpler and easy for citizens. Earlier, MVI Samba Vikas Srivats gave a detailed presentation on recent initiatives of the Motor Vehicle Department to Dealers and CSC operators.
