Bijbehara, Aug 13: Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Department (SWD), Sarmad Hafeez, on Wednesday visited Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) in Poshan Project Bijbehara. The visit included an interaction with staff and a review of the implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes.The District Programme Officer briefed the Commissioner Secretary on the progress of key initiatives, including the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and the Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP). The discussion also covered the regular health check-up of Poshan beneficiaries, which is crucial for monitoring nutritional health.The Commissioner Secretary called upon the officers and officials to ensure these schemes are effectively implemented at the ground level.Special focus was laid on reviving and strengthening the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) in all Anganwadi Centres to provide a strong foundation for young children. He interacted with the beneficiaries during the visit and received feedback.
