Drass: Jio tower suffers minor damage in avalanche, repaired

Drass, Jan 27: A Jio tower suffered minor damage after an avalanche struck the Matayan area of Drass in the Kargil district of Ladakh on Thursday.
An official said that a massive avalanche occurred near the Matayan area, resulting in minor damage to the tower. The people of the adjoining areas faced network problems for several hours due to the damage.
Soon after receiving information, police and local administration along with men and machinery reached the spot and cleared the mounds of snow after which the connectivity was restored, the official said, adding that no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.
