Jammu, Oct 20: Alankrita Sharma (Class-II), Manasvi Gupta (Class-IX) and Srijanika Gupta (Class-VIII) of Delhi Public School Jammu brought laurels to their school and parents by adding to their medals in recently concluded District Chess Championship. The championship continued from 12 to 16 October. It was organized by the District Association in collaboration with All J&K Chess Association and J&K Sports Council at Jammu.
While Alankrita won 5 gold medals in U-7, U-9, U-11, U-13 & U-15 girls category, Manasvi and Srijanika also won Silver & Bronze medals, respectively in U-17 girls category.
It is also pertinent to mention here that in 2019, Alankrita had topped World Chess Rating among children below six years in European Style Round Robin FIDE Rating Chess Championship held in Jammu.
Principal-DPS Jammu, RuchiChabra appreciated Alankrita, Manasvi and Srijanika for splendid performance in all the events and wished them success for all their future events.
President-RCT, M.K Ajatshatru Singh, PVC, Dr.KuwaraniRitu Singh and Director, S.S Sodhi congratulated the winners and extended their best wishes for all their future achievements.
